THE CAT CASTLE
CONDITIONS OF BOARDING

By proceeding to board your cat at The Cat Castle, you agree to all Terms and Conditions without exception.

VISIT US

Please feel free to come and view our cattery. You are welcome to look around either by visiting our website or by calling in during opening hours. No appointment is required.

TRADING DAYS AND HOURS

Opening Days:
7 days per week (excluding Public Holidays)

Opening Hours:

7:00am – 9:00am
4:00pm – 5:30pm

We are closed on Public Holidays.

Arrivals and departures outside these hours must be arranged in advance. A fee may apply. Please email us with your request.

DEPOSIT & PAYMENT TERMS

Peak Periods:
Easter, School Holidays, Christmas, and New Year.

• $50 non-refundable deposit per week during peak periods.
• $30 non-refundable deposit per pet during all other periods.
• Alternatively, a non-refundable boarding fee (as set by management) is payable at time of booking via credit card or EFT.
• Accounts are processed by credit card on arrival and must be finalised on departure.
• Long-term boarders are billed monthly via credit card.

We reserve the right to revise our prices when necessary. Prices charged will be those prevailing at the time of boarding.

CHECK-IN

• All pet details are recorded in our Pet Admin system, including special needs, veterinary details, medications, and dietary requirements.
• We administer injections and medications at no additional charge.
• All cats must be fully vaccinated and present a valid vaccination certificate upon arrival.
• If your cat becomes unwell during their stay, treatment will be arranged with our vet or your nominated vet.

COLLECTION POLICY

• Cats not collected within 14 days of their scheduled departure date, without communication from the owner, may be deemed abandoned.
• If no pickup date is advised within 14 days, management may dispose of or rehome the animal at its sole discretion.
• If sale/disposal does not cover outstanding charges, the owner remains liable for any shortfall.
• All charges must be paid before the cat leaves the premises.

Boarding is charged on a calendar day basis.

• Suites are available from 7:00am on arrival day until 5:30pm on departure day.
• Cats not collected by 5:30pm will incur an additional day’s boarding fee.
• Payment methods: EFTPOS, cash, or credit card.

The owner agrees to pay all veterinary and special service costs incurred during the cat’s stay.
If serious illness occurs and the owner cannot be contacted, the veterinarian’s decision regarding treatment is final.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

Cats must be vaccinated against:
• Feline Leukaemia
• Feline Infectious Enteritis
• Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (Feline Herpes Virus)
• Feline Calicivirus

A booster must have been administered within the previous 12 months.

Additional charges apply if veterinary transport is required:
• $75.00 (incl. GST) for transport to/from veterinarian
• $40.00 (incl. GST) per hour (or part hour) for staff attendance at vet

If a pet passes away at the facility:
• Owners or emergency contacts will be notified as soon as possible.
• The deceased pet must be collected promptly.
• If contact cannot be made, the pet will be transported to a vet or crematorium at the owner’s expense.

ACCEPTANCE OF RISK & LIABILITY

• Pets may engage in play with other animals.
• Pets may behave differently while boarding, which may result in injury or illness.
• We are not responsible for items lost, destroyed, or left behind.

You acknowledge that:
• Your pet stays at your own risk.
• You are responsible for your pet’s behaviour.
• We are not liable for illness, injury, death, or damage except in cases of proven negligence.
• Our maximum liability is limited to the total fees paid for the relevant service.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

The owner indemnifies The Cat Castle against all claims arising from the pet’s actions.

The owner confirms they are the sole legal owner of the animal.

PLEASE NOTE:
We do not accept un-neutered male cats over 6 months of age.

FEEDING

Cats are fed quality food including fish, fresh mince, and premium canned products.

If your cat requires a specialised diet, please supply it.
An additional fee of $1–$4 per day may apply for veterinary prescribed diets (if available).

BELONGINGS

Cats must arrive in a secure carrier (PP20 preferred).

We provide bedding, dishes, and toys.
Personal bedding or toys may be brought; however, we cannot guarantee their return or condition.
We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

BOOKINGS

Bookings must be made online or by phone during opening hours.

We reserve the right to refuse entry of any animal without explanation.

PHOTOS & SOCIAL MEDIA

Your pet may be photographed during its stay.
Images may be used for marketing and promotional purposes on our website or social media platforms.

GENERAL TERMS

• If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain valid.
• These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
• Terms in place at the time of booking apply to that booking.
• We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time.

By booking with The Cat Castle, you confirm acceptance of these Conditions of Boarding and the accuracy of all information provided.
